FREEFALL IMPROVISATIONAL THEATER
Founding member Santa Cruz, CA 2000-2015
Performing long-form improvisational theater is ‘writing on your feet’. Stepping on stage with no idea of what will happen next - the plot thickens, characters emerge and transform. Comedy and drama are intertwined and a theatrical play is revealed.
Improv teaches us that it is not all about ourselves. It’s about making ‘each other look good’. It’s about the collective experience. It teaches us that what happens to you - happens to me.
Improv invites us to ‘accept all offers’, even the ones we’re not so crazy about. It teaches us to say, “Yes and…” To accept what life dishes out and meet it with grace, humor, and goodwill. This is not always easy to do. To embrace the unknown, the uncertainty of life takes courage - in front of a live audience - and every single day.
